Reminder: I will be teaching two workshops for teachers this summer, as part of the Center for Innovative Teaching (CIT) at the Urban School of San Francisco. See below for more details and links.
The last day to take advantage of the 10% discount for early registration is June 4. You have three weeks (though some workshops may fill before then, so earlier is better!) Make your move before end-of-school craziness sets in.
Tuesday-Friday, August 4-7: VISUAL ALGEBRA
Make algebra more accessible, richer and more fun through visual approaches, including Lab Gear, geoboards, function diagrams, intelligent use of technology, and more effective group work. Learn three distinct visual paths to the quadratic formula.
Monday - Tuesday, August 10-11: NO LIMITS!
Broaden your pedagogical range with varied approaches to Algebra 2, trig, and precalculus including concrete introductions to exponential, log, inverse variation, and trig functions; upper level applications of function diagrams; and iterating functions as a gateway to sequences, series, mathematical induction, and chaos.

This summer, the CIT will also offer workshops in other disciplines, and a symposium for school leaders on integrating technology and education in middle or high school. Recruit a colleague from your school to any of those, and you each get a discount!
Last summer's program was filled to capacity with participants from near and far, and from schools public, private, and parochial. Reserve your place early!
